It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

#BIGCATWEEK

I just cannot stop singing that really catchy song. You know, the one that has that line… “It’s the most, won-der-ful time, of the year” ?? Well that time is finally here!!

It all started on Saturday actually. We are now officially three days into #BIGCATWEEK !!!

Aside from travelling, I have a real passion for learning about wildlife. And my animal of choice has always been cats. BIG cats. So when Nat Geo WILD decides to host a week dedicated to ‘nature’s fiercest felines,’ I can’t help but obsess over watching and learning about this magnificent species.

If you haven’t already checked it out, I urge you to do so A.S.A.P. Follow the journeys and struggles of lions, tigers, cheetahs etc, listen to their powerful stories and once you’ve fallen in love with these creatures – that point there is when you need to plan a trip to go and see them for yourself!

I was lucky enough to do so at Antelope Park and Vic Falls in Zimbabwe and I look forward to encountering these creatures again, maybe somewhere else… (Tanzania perhaps??)

To celebrate this wonderful week, I’ve dug out a collection of my favourite big cat snaps to share. For those of you who don’t have the time to immerse yourself in Nat Geo Wilds extensive programme schedule, I hope these photos will provide you some inspiration:

Has anyone else travelled to meet the King of the animal kingdom??? Any Big Cat stories or pics to share??
