Review: Harvey Nichols Manchester

May 12, 2014

As usual Mo had planned to spoil me on my birthday and one of my (many) treats was a lovely lunch at the Harvey Nichols restaurant in Manchester.

I didn’t know much about the food here so I was quite excited at being surprised with the menu, and I have to admit slightly concerned at whether there would be a good selection of ‘halal’ options (i.e. fish, vegetarian).

When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty empty, which was quite nice actually. The shop itself was quite chaotic so it was nice to walk through and sit down to some peace and quiet. We had a table by the window so we could look out over the bustling city centre below.

The menu, as expected, was limited. But all the options listed looked delicious. All were interesting mixtures of tastes and textures and all dishes were ones I had never tried before.

For the prices of each item, you would expect them to be quite special and both the food and service were. The quality of plating was impeccable and as with all good restaurants we have dined at, every bite was exciting.

Mo and I really enjoyed our afternoon here and I would definitely go back for a special occasion – it’s just that bit too pricy for an everyday meal.

Have you tried the food here? Did you think it was worth the heavy price?
