Bangkok Koh Samui Thailand

Thailand… here we come!

November 18, 2014

According to my wonderful holiday countdown app, in 30 days we shall be setting off to spend the Christmas break in Thailand !!!

I’ll have to admit at the start I wasn’t too excited about going, the only reason I wanted to be there was to witness one of my best friends get married, which is happening Christmas Day on the island of Koh Samui.

Although I’ve never been to Thailand before I was naively brushing it under the carpet as being a place for wild parties, stag nights and beach resorts, of which we’ve been to a fair few in the last couple of years.

HOWEVER

After engaging in (necessary) research to try and make the most of our stay I am now ridiculously excited !!

The main highlight will of course be the nuptials of my dear friends, but Mo and I are so looking forward to finally getting away for a few weeks and this will be the first time in over five years that I will not be working over the Christmas period! That’s a feat in itself!

For anyone who may also be looking for ideas in the Far East, here’s a sneak peak at some of our agenda:

Bangkok:

  • Grand Palace
  • Floating River Markets
  • Siam Niramit
  • River Boat Cruise

Koh Samui:

  • Big Buddha
  • Na Muang Waterfall
  • Angthong National Marine Park
  • Cooking/fruit carving

Anyone have any recommendations of places we should check out whilst we’re there?
